Paul has been COO for The Retail Strategy since 2017. He has a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona and his Master of Business Administration degree from Texas State University. Since joining TRS, Paul has focused on system improvements and leveraging technology to exceed client expectations.
The Retail Strategy was rapidly growing, but their management tools were not scalable and they needed to find a way to more efficiently manage their team’s commissions. They had been managing commissions for one or two brokers with a complex Excel spreadsheet but they found that when they tried to manage additional brokers with this tool, issues arose. Invoices were created separately, by a different individual than managed the spreadsheet, and all of this took too much time.
Three main goals - efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
They are now working with a team that is as least twice the size as it was 2.5 years ago and they find that CommissionTrac has “improved our whole commission tracking and invoicing process….it's just much more efficient and robust.” TRS has seen a savings of at least $500 a month just in the invoicing process alone, plus additional savings around running and reviewing reports. Running payroll is easier and Paul can depend on the accuracy of the data without spending a lot of his time troubleshooting and second guessing the numbers.
The team at TRS are “using CommissionTrac 100% and all of our brokers are on board and really have had positive feedback about the system. They are enjoying it and see the value in it...we haven’t looked back since incepting it.”
Additionally, since bringing CommissionTrac into their brokerage, they have noticed improved transparency as well. Brokers can pull their own reports in their own time without having to ask for this information and wait for someone to have time to pull it together.
