How NP Dodge Streamlined Business Processes, Eliminated Data Entry Mistakes, and Didn’t Miss a Beat When Switching to Work-From-Home During a Pandemic
Located in metro Omaha, NP Dodge has been a midwest leader in all areas of real estate since 1855. They've been a member of NAI Global since 2003.
I think the most positive thing that has come out of the whole switch or addition is accounting, over at corporate, who doesn’t like change, after us all working remotely for months they came back and actually thanked me for the change and were happy that we made the change prior to us working remotely.
— Michelle Gillot, Office Manager
Michelle has worked with NAI NP Dodge since 2005 when she started as a receptionist. Since then she has worked many jobs in the company and was promoted to Office Manager in 2012.
Both Michelle and NP Dodge’s corporate accounting department were manually inputting information into various spreadsheets and reports. This dual entry was time consuming and error prone. Agents were all on different split plans, which further complicated the calculations and tracking needs. Data entry for invoice creation and agent payments, which was all being done manually and separately, needed to be approved by multiple players. It all added up to time and frustration on Michelle’s part.
Michelle’s goals were to streamline her process, including automatically tracking and calculating agent splits, reducing paper waste, and improving reporting capabilities. She also works with the corporate accounting group at NP Dodge, the parent company. It was also a goal to streamline information share from the NAI NP Dodge team to the corporate team.
Processes have been simplified and there have been no errors made or found in the invoicing and agent payment processing. In fact, CommissionTrac has helped uncover inaccuracies in rent calculations in the process of generating leases, which Michelle sees as a positive.
Additionally, having implemented CommissionTrac prior to the beginning of COVID and related shelter-in-place/work-from-home changes allowed NAI NP Dodge to “continue to work through and push deals and payments through while we all working remotely so I think that was probably the biggest thing….It really truly was a blessing to have it in place prior to most people working remote.”
“I would definitely recommend CT to other companies, especially within the NAI network.”

“The most positive experience: the whole thing has been really good.”
